Only GST-registered businesses charge GST. A taxable invoice needs an ABN and is labelled Tax invoice. Quotisa uses AUD for GST invoices; check special and recipient-created invoice rules separately.

Questions before you send

How should I price this job?

Measure the actual quantities and enter your own costs and margin. Prices start blank so you can prepare a proposal for the agreed scope.

Which units should I use?

Use an hour, item, area or clearly defined fixed-price service as appropriate. Explain what each quantity covers so the client can check the amount.

Which taxes apply?

Australian GST is generally 10% for taxable supplies. Only GST-registered businesses charge GST. GST-free and input-taxed supplies have different treatment; choose the correct classification from the ATO guidance. The editor starts at 0%. For a taxable invoice, include an 11-digit ABN and use AUD in Quotisa. The tool checks the format and required fields; it does not verify registration in the government register.

Does the PDF replace a required invoicing system?

A tax invoice must be clearly identified and include the seller's identity and ABN, issue date, descriptions, quantities, prices and GST information. At AUD 1,000 or more, the buyer's identity or ABN is also required; Quotisa asks for buyer details for all invoices. When GST is positive, Quotisa labels the document Tax invoice and asks for an ABN. Confirm GST registration before charging GST. Recipient-created invoices and special rules need separate handling. The PDF is local; Quotisa does not lodge BAS returns or connect to an invoice network.
